In many cases, moms in our culture concede to the idea that having pre-teen and/or teenage daughter is just a difficult time and we must ‘suck it up’ and step back with the hope that our daughter, and the relationship, will return. Your daughter needs and wants you to stay connected. She may not be conscious of this, but you have to remember this truth for both of you. As you remain stable and dependable, she will find her way back to you. That means as our daughters grow we must stay committed to deepening our own knowledge and compassion towards ourselves as we continue to grow.
That said, in order for our girls to become independent and confident women we need to change our stance, let go and give space; but we also must stay connected, be curious and truly learn how to listen. This is a dance in learning how to sit with our own discomfort in their “pulling back” process, trust in the foundation of the established relationship and utilize tools to communicate in an authentic way.
I truly believe that each mother-daughter relationship is personal and powerful, and I encourage moms to trust their own parental intuition. You already have the answers, and nobody knows your mother-daughter relationship better than you. My goal is to equip you with the necessary tools and compassion to (re)discover your daughter and navigate the full spectrum of dynamics that encompass your unique mother-daughter relationship
I offer a variety of workshops and mother daughter coaching sessions intended to create a safe space for mothers and daughters to have a shared experience to deepen connection, learn ways to strengthen relationship and develop daily ritual together. I share concepts and facilitate activities that allow you and your daughters the opportunity and space to learn about each other both during and after the session.
